"Jack Up" has two
separate meanings. The first meaning is used to express lifting
something by use of a jack. The second meaning is used to
express raising the price of goods or services by a large
amount.
When the car got a puncture we
jacked it up to change the wheel.
That new comuter game is so
popular lots of shops are jacking up the price
